SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — One person was stabbed Wednesday inside a Vons in the Egger Highlands neighborhood of San Diego, authorities said.

Around 4:13 p.m., SkyFOX/KUSI in the Sky was over the 600 block of Saturn Boulevard, where multiple San Diego police cars could be seen outside the grocery store.

Police initially responded to the call about the stabbing at 2:52 p.m.

When officers arrived at the location, they found a woman in aisle three with a stab wound to the shoulder, police confirmed.

The suspect was taken into custody after being found in aisle nine, while the victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Shoppers and store employees jumped in to provide aid to the victim, according to police.

Authorities say they found a knife in one of the store aisles inside the grocery store.

The store is currently closed as police investigate.

Police believe the suspect and victim did not know each other; the attack appears to be unprovoked.

No other details have been released at this time.
