Christina Haack Enjoys Date With Boyfriend After HGTV Cancellation

Christina Haack’s not letting the cancellation of her HGTV series Christina on the Coast get her down.

Christina, 42, was spotted looking completely carefree while on a day date with boyfriend Christopher Larocca on Monday, July 21 The reality TV star was seen wearing a white tennis skirt and a matching crop top for the outing. According to the Daily Mail, she and Larocca, 52, had lunch at Javier’s in Newport Beach.

Christina addressed Christina and the Coast’s cancellation on social media on Saturday, July 19. “Summer so far,” she captioned a post of photos of her children and Larocca. “Basically just eating and laughing. Canceled looks good on me …. Only kidding only kidding .”

HGTV announced the network’s plans to cancel five shows — Battle on the Beach, Farmhouse Fixer, Married to Real Estate, Bargain Block and Izzy Does It — in June. Multiple outlets reported that Christina on the Coast and Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa’s Flipping El Moussas were on the chopping block as well.

However, another one of Haack’s shows — The Flip Off, which she cohosts with Tarek and Heather — is “back for a second season, but there is no filming date or air date yet,” an insider told Us Weekly earlier this month.

In January, the trio spoke to Us exclusively about what working together was really like. “I’ve never shot with Heather, so I was like, ‘What’s that going to be like? Tarek and I have a playful banter; is she going to be jealous?’” Christina explained. Heather added, “It was like, ‘Are we going to get along? Are we going to work well together?’”

Tarek also joked that he was only worried both women would work “against” him on the show, and as he put it, “they did!”

Luckily, the three made the show work. “There have been so many times throughout all of this that I’m like, ‘Wow, I can’t believe we did that,’” Christina said. “I’m proud of all of us.”

Heather also explained that it wasn’t uncomfortable working with Christina for a key reason: “No, because we’re around each other a lot for the kids. We’re at school events and sports events. We’ve always gotten along.”

It was similarly easy for Tarek and Christina to work together, too. “The last couple of years we’ve been in a really good place. It took us almost 10 years to get there, so going back into shooting together, it’s a lot more of an intimate relationship,” Tarek said. “There were some reservations. But as the show has gone on, we’ve realized it’s just business.”
