SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A driver suspected in a deadly hit-and-run crash Saturday was arrested, authorities said.

The incident occurred around 12:07 a.m. on Interstate 5 northbound, located south of 5th Avenue, the California Highway Patrol said in a news release Wednesday.

Authorities say an unknown man riding a motorcycle on I-5 northbound crashed into the right shoulder concrete wall for reasons still under investigation.

The collision caused the rider to be ejected and land on the No. 1 lane of State Route 163 southbound to I-5 northbound transition road.

A dark-colored Tesla then struck the rider and left the scene, per CHP.

A toxicology report is pending through the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The identity of the deceased has not been released at this time.
