San Diego police pursuit ends in rollover crash thumbnail

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A police pursuit in San Diego Sunday afternoon ended in a rollover crash.

San Diego Sheriff Deputies tried to pull over a vehicle in the area of State Route 56 and Camino Del Sur in northern San Diego around 3:49 p.m. Sunday for a reported warrant stop when the driver fled from police, the sheriff’s office reports.

The pursuit ended around 4:02 p.m. when the vehicle rolled over near La Jolla Village Drive and the I-805 south off-ramp.

The male driver was arrested at the scene and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, police confirmed. The woman passenger declined medical treatment.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) and San Diego Police Department assisted at the scene. The pursuit is under investigation by the sheriff’s department.
