SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A gas leak closed a popular taco spot on one of their busiest days of the week.

On Saturday afternoon, employees at Tacos El Gordo on Palm Ave in Otay Mesa West reported the restaurant’s CO2 alarm was going off and evacuated the building.

Firefighters with the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department arrived and found there was no CO2 leak, but did find a small natural gas leak in the kitchen, the fire department confirmed.

The taco shop remained closed as of 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
