RAMONA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI)— Republican Representative Darrell Issa introduced a Bill that could rename the Ramona post office after boxer Archie Moore.

Issa introduced H.R. 4982 at the Ramona MMA Center.

Champion boxer Archie Moore held the “Salt Mine Training Camp” in Ramona, and after he retired, he created the Any Body Can Youth Foundation, according to Representative Issa’s office.

The ABC foundation serves innercity youth, according to its Instagram page.

“Ramona played an integral part in [Archie Moore’s] life. On behalf of the entire ABC Youth Foundation,” Billy Moore, president and CEO of Any Body Can Youth Foundation, said in part.

The Archie Moore Memorial credited Issa for recognizing Archie’s legacy.

“Decades ago, Archie Moore embraced Ramona, and now, Ramona, indeed America, has the opportunity to acknowledge Archie’s remarkable life,” said Dan Summers, chairman of the Archie Moore Memorial.

The Bill will next need to pass the House of Representatives.
