From a simple friendship formed through music to a growing presence in the OPM scene, independent pop band BNV2K is proving that passion, faith and perseverance can turn dreams into something real. Formed in 2020 by churchmates, childhood friends, and colleagues who shared a love for music, BNV2K began with Joven “Ven” Cruz, the group’s leader, composer, and lyricist, and Roberto “Bito” Bello, who initially handled beats and production. Originally meaning “Beats and Vibes”, BNV2K eventually became known as “Banda ni Ven”, with “2K” reflecting the group’s musical influences from the 2000s and beyond.
Through lineup changes and challenges, BNV2K has remained focused on creating original music that tells stories and connects with listeners. The group’s current lineup includes Ven, Bito, Aiyen Miñano, Chandlr Delos Reyes, RV Porton, Den Miñano, and Win Manrique, with substitute members PJ Daban, Myra Kabigting and Faye Mailen. Their music explores inspirational and love themes, drawing from real-life experiences and emotions that many listeners can relate to. Their journey gained renewed momentum after a content creator discovered one of their songs, encouraging the group to pursue their musical ambitions with greater determination.
One of BNV2K’s standout releases is the viral hit “Nag-iisang Ikaw”, written by Ven and released in 2025. Inspired by the personal experiences and struggles of the band members, the song delivers a message of hope, faith, and perseverance, reminding listeners that even during life’s most difficult moments, there is always a reason to keep moving forward. Recently, “Nag-iisang Ikaw” made its way onto the charts of one of Manila’s top radio stations, marking another milestone for the band. With nearly 100,000 Spotify streams and more than 80,000 YouTube views.
“Nag-iisang Ikaw” establishes itself as a song to watch. Currently, BNV2K is gearing up for an extensive promotional tour to bring their music and message to an even wider audience.
For BNV2K, this is just the beginning. With more original songs on the way, the group looks toward the future to make good music, tell meaningful stories, and leave a lasting connection with every listener.
