‘Love Island USA’ Season 9 Confirmed With Ariana Madix Returning as Host
Ariana Madix is not pleased with this Love Island bombshell.
The Love Island USA host called out the dating show’s Australian counterpart after she was featured in an AI-generated video promoting Love Island Australia‘s upcoming eighth season.
“They didn’t tell me AT ALL that the clip I shot would be used with AI. Something I am firmly against,” Madix, 41, commented on Instagram, per a screenshot shared by fan accounts. “Wtf guys @loveislandau?”
The Oct. 4 promo, which Instagram has labeled “AI content,” teased Love Island Australia‘s takeover of the Love Island USA villa in Fiji in its new season. Footage showed Madix—clad in a colorful strapless dress and sunglasses—passing off the keys to the villa, saying to the camera, “Good luck, Australia! Try not to break anything.”
The video then cut to Love Island Australia host Sophie Monk, who playfully quipped that the residence needed “Ausification,” before showing AI-generated models renovating villa.
And Madix was not the only one who wasn’t thrilled with the heavy use of AI.
“We would’ve preferred last years villa if it meant you could actually afford to make a promo video without using AI,” one Instagram user commented under the promo, while another wrote, “Why are we using AI? This is so embarrassing.”
E! News has reached out to ITV Studios Australia, which produces Love Island Australia, for comment but hasn’t heard back.
Ben Symons/Peacock
Madix has been hosting Love Island USA since its sixth season in 2024. It was recently announced that the Vanderpump Rules alum will be returning to her post as host for the Peacock series’ ninth season in summer 2027.
The show’s Love Island: Beyond the Villa spinoff and its challenge-centric iteration Love Island Games have also been renewed for a third season.
