Star Cinema’s latest movie, “Always Yours, Never Mine,” slated for a Philippine theatrical release on Wednesday (September 30), is also set to reach global audiences in cinemas worldwide.
The film, topbilled by Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto and directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, will be showing in theaters in the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Australia, and New Zealand starting Oct. 22; the US, Canada, and Guam starting Oct. 23; the UK and Austria starting Oct. 31; and Spain, France, and Italy starting Nov. 1.
Joshua and Julia will also lead the European special screenings and meet-and-greet sessions in the UK at the Genesis Cinema London on Oct. 31 at 10AM and 1PM. Another set of special screenings with the lead stars will take place in Madrid, Spain at the Palacio de la Prensa Cinema on Nov. 1 at 1PM and 6PM.
“Always Yours, Never Mine” is a romantic drama spanning three decades, following Apollo (Joshua) and Luna (Julia) whose lives intersect at different points in time. Each reunion presents a choice, with every decision shaping the paths they take and the lives they leave behind.
Joshua described the film as a welcome breather, hoping its story and characters will resonate with audiences.
“Feeling ko kailangan natin ito, yung mga ganitong entertainment. Kailangan nating huminga, I think ito yung hinga natin. I hope maraming maka-relate at makasabay sa characters nina Apollo at Luna (I feel like we need this kind of entertainment. We need to take a breath and enjoy a story like this. I hope many can relate to the characters of Apollo and Luna),” he shared.
For Julia, the film’s title reflects the act of giving one’s heart to someone who cannot fully reciprocate that love.
“[It’s about] your willingness to give your heart to somebody else who can’t give theirs back to you,” she said.
