The Shade Shop, a Charlottesville, Va.-based lampshade and lighting company, will open a Lampshade Lounge in the New York Design Center this fall to serve the local interior design community.

The to-the-trade Lampshade Lounge in Suite 433 will offer in-stock inventory of many different silhouettes, sizes and materials along with an fabric library for working sessions with clients, the company said, mimicking the services it offers in its Charlottesville shop and on its website.

“This showroom is a thank-you to our trade clients who have trusted us to be their partners for 10 years,” said owner Kara Williams. “Designers have been at the center of what we do. We are pleased to now meet them where they work — with the same high level of customer service, deep product knowledge, and the country’s largest in-stock selection of designer lampshades and lighting.”

The shop has a large inventory of Fermoie lampshades, an exclusive U.S. retail partnership for Ian Sanderson lampshades, and its own signature lampshade designs.
