Alex Cooper Slams Internet Troll Over Comment About Her Pregnancy
Des Bishop is giggly over his future plans with Hannah Berner.
Over four years after the comedian tied the knot with the Giggly Squad podcast host, he revealed that the two are trying to have kids, despite years of saying otherwise in his standup act.
“I had gotten to an age where I was very fine not having them,” Bishop admitted on the Sept. 1 episode of SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio, adding that despite the hesitation, “Hannah and I are, like, trying.”
The 50-year-old confirmed that Berner, 35, is “not pregnant,” but joked the two are “banging” quite a lot “during a particular window.”
“A few people have said, ‘So, you’re not gonna have kids,’” Bishop recalled. “And I’m like, ‘That is a misconstrued thing from my routine.’ But anyway, I definitely had also accepted in my life that I wouldn’t have them.”
And if, for some reason, he and Berner were unable to have children? Bishop noted he “would be fine with that also.”
The topic of kids is one both Bishop and Berner have touched on in their comedy routines, with Bishop commenting on the pressures he’s faced to have a child despite his age.
“I was single in my 40s, right? I had just accepted that I wasn’t going to have kids,” he told the crowd in a clip posted to Instagram from his June comedy special Bridge and Tunnel. “And when you’re single in your 40s with no kids, people freak out. They’re like, ‘You got to have a kid. You don’t want to die alone.’”

But that idea didn’t sit well with the comedian, who joked it was “a very morbid motivation for having a child,” especially because “you’re only dying for a very short period of time,” whereas having a child is a yearslong commitment.
“Having a kid in this economy? 30 years minimum. You can’t get rid of these f–kers. 30 years of money, 30 years of stress, all to have a couple of conversations at the end when you’re off your face on morphine anyway?” he mused. “I don’t think that’s a good return on your investment.”
And he noted there was always the chance “your kids could suck.”
“I said to Hannah, I said, ‘Oh, you want to roll the dice on this? It’s not a good return,’” he exclaimed. “I say, ‘Hey, life hack: Let’s not have kids. Save 30 years of money, 30 years of stress.’”

As for Berner, the Summer House alum also discussed the couple’s baby plans in her own June comedy special None of My Business, noting their timeline was complicated by her and Bishop’s 16-year age gap.
“My husband is 50 years old,” she quipped to the crowd in a clip shared on Instagram. “If I freeze my eggs, I also have to freeze my husband. I have to Walt Disney that motherf–ker.”
Berner laughed as she recalled one time when she made that joke about her husband and an audience member yelled out, “Sperm never dies,” to which Berner replied, “But he will.”

“Endometriosis can affect your fertility in a lot of different ways,” she continued. “You can have endometrial tissue growing near or on your ovaries, it can affect the quality of your eggs, scar your fallopian tubes.”

Despite the challenges, though, she is open to other options to grow her family.
“It is tough, but at the same time it’s like, you just put it in God’s hands,” she said on a November 2025 episode of her podcast. “If it’s meant to be it’s meant to be. And if not, we can always adopt.”

“It was 2006 when I found out that I was pregnant,” Eve wrote in her memoir Who’s That Girl?. “I had to have emergency surgery and stop filming the show for two weeks. I don’t know why I lied to everyone on set and said that my appendix had ruptured, really. Maybe because I was lying to myself.”
“If I faced losing my baby, then I didn’t know if two weeks would be enough emotional healing time,” she continued. “In the end, it was barely enough healing time for me physically, before I was right back to work on set. I had lost so much weight after the surgery, and my body was so frail.”

“We have our fur baby though, Thor. Romaine is obsessed with him,” added the real estate agent. “So if it doesn’t happen, he says he’s OK. He’s got his little fur baby, and he is just beyond obsessed. We’ll be OK. What’s meant to be will be.”

But having frozen her eggs before her cancer battle, she then underwent IVF to help her conceive a child—an experience she decided to share with the world.
“I just was so tired of keeping quiet,” she explained of sharing her struggles in a 2021 essay. “It was such a hard, painful journey. I think I went numb through most of it, because you just feel like a robot and you’re on this really unfair roller coaster that more times out of none, you’re going to get really bad news.”
She added, “I’m a vocal person, and I could speak from the heart and just talk about how crappy it was and that I get it for a lot of couples and families that are trying to have a child.”
