Film, live music, and theater. These three art forms are taking center stage on Wish Date, a concert series by Wish 107.5 and KDR Music House.

Its upcoming edition, “Wish Date: Unchanging Glass,” will feature a film that follows three people who can’t seem to let go of the past. Set to premiere on August 23 at the Araneta Coliseum as part of Wish 107.5’s 12th anniversary celebration, it will be top-billed by Zaijian Jaranilla, Yukii Takahashi, and Aljon Mendoza.

For all three, “Wish Date” is unlike anything else in their filmography.

“This is unique because there’s a movie, and then we perform live some scenes, which is a great opportunity because I haven’t done that — it’s an amazing try, it’s an amazing challenge,” Yukii, a Filipino-Japanese actress who has starred in projects like “Batang Quiapo” and “Almost Us,” shared in an interview with Wish 107.5.Apart from the film and live acting stints, “Wish Date: Unchanging Glass” will also turn the limelight on musical performances, where guest artists — including The Juans, dwta, Renz Verano, and Pops Fernandez — will perform songs that complement the story.

For Aljon, an alumnus of “Pinoy Big Brother: Otso,” this is another exciting feature of the concert series.

“‘Yung gustong-gusto ko dito sa Wish Date… meron tayong film, tapos in between scenes, meron tayong mga performer na umaakma sa feeling ng mga scenes,” he enthused in an interview.

Zaijian, who first made a name in the industry as a child actor, describes his Wish Date debut as “different.” “Sobrang different niya kasi unang-una… may live acting. First time kong mararamdaman ‘yung ganong pakiramdam, na umarte sa gitna ng stage, tapos sobrang daming tao — at may banda na kakanta,” he revealed.

What also ties the three together is a shared appreciation for the people making the project happen.

“‘Yung bonding behind the scenes, behind the camera with the staff, the artist, mga co-actors ko, and then of course people from Wish… everyone here, sobrang saya,” Yukii stated when asked about her core memory from making the film. Inviting concert-lovers to attend the event, she said, “Maki-relate kayo rito sa kwento namin, maki-relate kayo sa mga kantang [tutugtugin] sa Araneta Coliseum. Sama-sama tayong ma-inlove, maiyak, at kiligin.”

Apart from Yukii, Aljon, and Zaijian, “Unchanging Glass” will also star Monina Lawrence, Sharmaine Suarez, and Chikki Magbitang.
