Perez Hilton is being supported by his loved ones during his hospitalization.

One day after the blogger appeared to engage in self-harm during a TikTok livestream, his family released a statement addressing public concerns over Hilton, sharing, that they “are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of love, support, and prayers.”

“We can confirm that Perez is receiving medical care, and our family’s focus right now is on his well-being,” an Aug. 5 statement posted on Hilton’s website read. “We kindly ask that you respect Perez’s privacy, as well as the privacy of his family, during this difficult time.”

Hilton’s family, which includes his three young children, continued in the message, “If and when we are able to share any updates, we will do so with everyone as soon as we can. Thank you for your compassion, understanding, and continued support.”

Police were dispatched to Hilton’s Miami home on the night of Aug. 4 after he went on a livestream—which has since been deleted—appeared to be covered in blood while holding what seemed to be a knife.

“The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office received multiple calls regarding an individual who was livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media,” authorities told E! News. “Deputies quickly located the individual’s residence, where they spoke with family members on scene, and confirmed he was alone inside.”
