DUBLIN, IRELAND – The Script release “The Crowd Was Singing Wonderwall”, out 10th July 2026. The powerful new single arrives from their forthcoming album ‘The User’s Guide to Being Human’ (14th August 2026), as the Irish rock titans prepare for a triumphant return to Southeast Asia in March 2027—building on the phenomenal momentum of their sold-out ‘Satellites’ tour across the region.

A Song About Reunion and Forgiveness

“The Crowd Was Singing Wonderwall” is a towering ode to nostalgia as a superpower, exploring the fraying and re-braiding of lifelong friendships. Inspired by the stadium-sized communal joy that gripped audiences during Oasis’s Live ’25 reunion tour, the song captures a universal human moment: friends who fell out decades ago bumping into each other at a major event, 30+ years later, and the possibility of reconnection.

The track fuses The Script’s gift for larger-than-life, stadium-filling singalong choruses with the anthemic swagger of indie-rock—creating an emotional journey that resonates with audiences who’ve experienced similar moments of unexpected reunion and forgiveness.

Danny O’Donoghue on Forgiveness & Reunion

“I’m a huge Oasis fan. Always have been,” frontman Danny O’Donoghue explains. “But I don’t think Liam and Noel knew the full impact of what they were doing when they got back together. Because a lot of their fanbase, they’re lads, middle-aged guys, and a lot of them have a similar scenario where they’re not talking to a brother or a friend, and they’re trying to be a man’s man about it.

The Gallaghers reuniting put into the zeitgeist the idea that forgiveness is cool again. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up when I saw them walking out with their hands together. If two of the most notorious people for being at loggerheads can overcome their differences, anything’s possible!”

This message of reconciliation and second chances resonates deeply across cultures and continents—particularly in Asia, where The Script have built one of their most devoted global fanbases.

Album Context: ‘The User’s Guide to Being Human’

“The Crowd Was Singing Wonderwall” arrives following the album’s lead single “Man in the Arena”—a rousing anthem that dominated Radio 2 and earned A-list status. Both tracks exemplify The Script’s creative renewal following the profound grief of losing bandmate Mark Sheehan in 2023.

Recorded in Topanga Canyon, Los Angeles, ‘The User’s Guide to Being Human’ reunites Danny O’Donoghue with collaborators Andrew Frampton, Steve Kipner, and Jimbo Barry—the creative team behind The Script’s biggest hits including “Hall Of Fame”, “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved”, and “Breakeven”.

“The title is what this album is about,” Danny reflects. “If you need something to remind you of the spectrum of feelings and emotions that make you feel human, this is it.”

Triumphant Return to Southeast Asia

The Script’s 2027 Asia tour arrives on the back of unprecedented success in the region. Their 2025 ‘Satellites’ tour saw sold-out shows across every major Southeast Asian market:

Record-Breaking Manila Response

The rapid sell-out of The Script’s Manila shows (18-19 March 2027) demonstrates the extraordinary scale of their Asian fanbase. In response to overwhelming demand, a third Manila show has been newly announced for 20th March 2027, adding a third night at the same venue.

This unprecedented response from a single market underscores Asia’s central importance to The Script’s global touring success and positions the 2027 tour as one of the year’s most anticipated rock events across the region. Asia has emerged as one of The Script’s most passionate and devoted markets, with fans across Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand consistently creating some of the most electric atmospheres at their shows.
