Kyle Busch’s Wife Shares What Father’s Day Would Have Looked Like One Month After His Death
Samantha Busch is honoring her late husband Kyle Busch.
One month after the NASCAR champion died at 41, the lifestyle blogger penned an emotional tribute on Father’s Day, reflecting on how she and Kyle’s two kids Brexton, 11, and Lennix, 4, would have celebrated the holiday before his unexpected death.
“This still doesn’t feel real at all. I was up all night thinking about what today should have looked like for Kyle and the kids,” Samantha wrote in June 21 Instagram post alongside a touching video montage full of family memories. “The Father’s Day cards that were already made, sitting in a drawer with no one to give them to. Trying to figure out how to navigate a day that should be filled with so much joy for them.”
“He was the dad who never missed a chance to be silly,” she continued, “race the kids around the neighborhood, wrap them in his arms, or stay up a little longer for one more book, one more question, one more moment.”
The 40-year-old—who married Kyle in 2010—further praised her late husband’s dedication as a father, writing, “Nothing made him prouder than being Brexton and Lennix’s dad.”
And while watching the clips of sweet family memories is painful for her, Samantha expressed that it also reminds her of how “lucky” she and her kids were to have Kyle in their lives.
The mom of two went on to share a heartfelt message to the NASCAR Hall of Famer.
“Kyle, the kids and I miss you every second of every day,” she wrote. “Our hearts ache for you, but it’s more than that. Your absence is something we physically feel. Our bodies hurt from missing you, from reaching for someone who isn’t there, from loving someone we can’t hold anymore.”
“I will keep telling your stories, sharing your laughs,” she continued, “and making sure Brexton and Lennix always know just how deeply they were loved by their dad.”
Samantha concluded her caption, “Happy Father’s Day. We love you and miss you more than words can say.”

Father’s Day marked one month since Kyle passed away on May 21 from severe pneumonia, which had progressed into sepsis.
In the time since her husband of 15 years’ death, Samantha has detailed how she and her family have been navigating their grief during “the most heartbreaking days of our lives.”
“The love that has surrounded our family during this unimaginable time has brought comfort in the middle of so much pain,” she wrote in a June 5 Instagram post. “Knowing the impact Kyle had on others and seeing how they are honoring him through each unique act of generosity is a true testament to how special Kyle is to so many people.”
