As PLDT continues to advance its digital and AI-driven transformation, investments in employee development are increasingly translating into better experiences for customers. Across the organization, women employees are demonstrating strong momentum in continuous learning, particularly in AI, strengthening the company’s ability to design smarter digital services, respond more quickly to customer needs, and support the growing connectivity demands of millions of Filipinos.

Last year, PLDT’s female employees across supervisor, officer and rank and file roles recorded an average of 88.0 hours of advanced learning. Their involvement in a broad range of development programs that include AI, analytics, digital tools, customer experience design, leadership development and technical training, highlights the breadth of skills required as new technologies and customer expectations reshape the sector.

This learning drive has helped lead to PLDT’s launch of a series of homegrown AI-powered solutions in recent months, including EVE, ERICA, Ellie, and KAI.

  • EVE (Emergency Vital Essentials) is PLDT’s AI-powered emergency preparedness and family safety agent, designed to supplement our comprehensive personal and family preparedness programs
  • ERICA (Enterprise Risk Intelligence Companion Agent) is designed to strengthen enterprise risk management across the organization by enhancing how risks are identified, assessed, and managed with greater speed and consistency.
  • Ellie (Enablement and Intelligence Engine) is an internal AI-powered digital assistant designed to enhance productivity, collaboration, and operational efficiency across Enterprise teams.
  • KAI (Knowledge, Automation, Intelligence) is a conversational assistant to support its PLDT Enterprise teams with timely network intelligence and product insights.

This growing commitment to upskilling and excellence in adopting AI within PLDT’s own operations is especially significant at a time when telecommunications is being transformed by advances in AI, network intelligence, cybersecurity and the continued shift toward seamless digital interactions. Employees who invest in building new capabilities are better positioned to support the organization’s efforts to modernize its operations and reinforce the resilience and responsiveness of the services it provides.

Gina P. Ordoñez, Chief People Officer at PLDT, emphasized that the company’s transformation relies heavily on people who demonstrate curiosity, adaptability and a willingness to strengthen their skill sets. “The strong learning engagement shown by women across the organization reflects the pace of change in the industry and reinforces our ongoing efforts to build a future ready workforce,” she noted.

The steady participation of women in learning initiatives contributes to PLDT’s broader commitment to nurturing a culture where growth is encouraged, opportunities are accessible and capability-building remains aligned with the company’s long term digital priorities. As PLDT continues to enhance its network, expand its digital channels and introduce new technologies across operations, this continued focus on learning serves as an important enabler of the company’s forward direction.

Through their sustained investment in development, women across PLDT are strengthening the organization’s readiness for a more agile and digital future, one that supports the evolving connectivity needs of millions of Filipinos.
