Fergie’s Rare Appearance With Ludacris at Atlanta Concert Is So Delicious
Fergie was ready to rock that reunion.
Nearly a decade after departing the Black Eyed Peas, the singer marked a milestone moment with will.i.am, Taboo, and apl.de.ap. The group’s 2010 hit “Rock That Body” bested Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris” and 4 Non Blondes’ “What’s Up?” to take home the 2026 American Music Award for Best Throwback Song. (See all the winners here.)
And for Fergie, it was a poignant reflection of her years with the guys, and what it’s meant to see how their work continues to resonate.
“What a moment,” she said on the stage at the May 25 event hosted by Queen Latifah.“ I want to thank all of the fans for voting for this so I can stand up here right now with my longtime friends and brothers, the Black Eyed Peas. In honor of this special song, this era, ‘Rock That Body,’ there’s so many memories along the line with that.”
Despite the many hits she made with the Black Eyed Peas over the years, it’s ‘Rock That Body’ that finally made her and ex Josh Duhamel’s son Axl, 12, give their work a listen.
As Fergie revealed, I want to thank everyone who made TikToks and Instagram videos and making this moment possible so that my son would put our song on his playlist.”

“To all of our supporters who have made content throughout the years, thank you so much,” she continued, “Sometimes, the content you make is so big and the feelings are so big for me it’s overwhelming to look because there’s so much love that you put into it and I just wanna say thank you from the bottom of my heart. I see you, you mean so much.”
Fergie, who held tightly onto will.i.am and Taboo’s hands throughout her speech, went on to give her tween a heartfelt mention. “And I get to now say this,” she teased, “I finally, finally get to say this on TV: ‘Hi Axl!’ ‘Rock That Body’ we did it!”
Of course, in the years since Fergie and the Black Eyed Peas parted ways in 2018, their bond has remained strong. In fact, with Fergie, Will and Taboo all turning 50 in 2025—Apl turned 50 in 2024—they all joined up for a birthday bash.
“Finally got to break bread and celebrate our milestone birthdays together,” Fergie, wrote on Instagram in December. “What a special night with my brothers, filled with so much love.”
