Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton Step Out Hand-in-Hand for First Time
It may be a rush to watch $20 million cars speeding around a track, but it’s romance that really revs our engines.
And when it comes to the wives and girlfriends of F1 drivers, that’s a whole scene in and of itself. The Formula One circuit is a global travel extravaganza, taking the drivers—and their significant others—to 19 countries over the course of a 24-race season, providing their partners with more opportunities than ever to hold the spotlight.
If you’re Alexandra Saint Mleux, who married Monégasque driver Charles LeClerc in February, you’re going to dress for every occasion—and partner with a brand or two (or five). The same goes for Kelly Piquet, partner of four-time world champion Max Verstappen. Or if you’re Carlos Sainz Jr.’s girlfriend Rebecca Donaldson. Or British driver George Russell‘s longtime love, Carmen Montero Mundt.
So, Kim Kardashian, who’s been frolicking in the ocean and holding hands with F1 superstar Lewis Hamilton, may stand out on the sidelines of most sports. But should she show up at a race—feel free to put the June 7 Monaco Grand Prix on your calendar—she’ll just be one of the bunch among this well-heeled crowd.
Meanwhile, the term WAG—which caught fire 20 years ago to refer to the wives and girlfriends of English soccer players and then spread to other sports—has evolved since Victoria Beckham bridged the gap between her days as a Spice Girl and her career in fashion by embracing the designation.

But since the hit Netflix series F1: Drive to Survive fueled a new level of interest in the personalities behind Formula One, so has the fascination with the athletes’ love lives shifted into overdrive.
So, even if you can’t tell a Ferrari from a McLaren, you’re about to be an expert on F1 WAGs:

Charles Leclerc
The Monégasque Ferrari driver was first spotted courting French influencer Alexandra Saint Mleux at Wimbledon in 2023, and it was indeed a love match.
They tied the knot Feb. 28 at Monaco City Hall, accompanied by their dog Leo and a small crew of family and friends. The civil ceremony was a test run for a bigger celebration to follow in 2027, but their version of low-key included the bride wearing a lacy Paolo Sebastian gown and driving off in a red 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa.
While Alexandra’s 4.4 million Instagram followers are usually along for the ride, after posting pics from the May 3 Miami Grand Prix she clapped back against a commenter who claimed the model was nothing without Charles, replying, “We’re not all meant to be singers, doctors, actresses or athletes, and that doesn’t take away from someone’s value. Who you are as a person, how you treat others and what you choose to do with your freetime does tho! Reflect.”

Model Kelly Piquet has been in the Belgian-born Dutch driver’s cheering section since 2020. But even before Max rattled off four straight championships starting in 2021, she was no stranger to the winner’s circle as the daughter of Brazilian F1 champ Nelson Piquet.
“I’ve experienced the ups and downs, seen what pressure does to someone,” Kelly told Dutch Vogue in 2022. “This world is so familiar to me, I know what those guys go through.”
As for Max, “He is confident and not interested in fame or material things. We have a lot in common.”
The couple welcomed daughter Lily in May 2025, Max telling ESPN days after she was born, “You never really know what to expect but it’s been very enjoyable and very special.”
He noted he was also “a bonus dad” to Penelope, Kelly’s daughter with former F1 driver Daniil Kvyat, since he “saw her grow up since she was 1.”

Lewis Hamilton
While he was linked to the likes of Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Rihanna in the wake of his 2015 breakup with longtime girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger, the British driver always denied that he was dating anybody, maintaining that he was focused on winning races.
But Lewis and Kim Kardashian have been fueling serious-romance speculation, with the pair making noticeable pit stops in Paris, Tokyo, Malibu, New York and more.
Lewis said relationships can be “complicated,” telling France’s RTBF in July 2025, “I see other drivers and I wonder how they manage it. Some have children, are married, have girlfriends.”
Yet he plans on taking his foot off that brake one day.
“Over the last 10 years, I’ve concentrated on my performance,” Lewis explained. “And when I retire, I’ll be able to do what I want. I’ll be able to devote myself to other things without constraints.”

Andrea “Kimi” Antonelli
The 2026 Miami Grand Prix winner is single these days. And Kimi’s ex, Czech kart racer Eliska Babickova, wanted it known that, though she and the Italian Mercedes driver reached the finish line after two years together, their past was not checkered.
Calling their split “quite recent” in a Feb. 24 TikTok, she explained that she wanted to “set the record straight” to quash “any more false, disgusting narratives.”
“Yes, we did break up,” she said. “I was the one to end the relationship because I felt that we no longer aligned in our personal lives and what we wanted for our future…There’s no massive drama. No other man, no other woman was involved.”

LPGA golfer Lily He got really into F1: Drive to Survive on Netflix when it premiered in 2019 and started following some of the show’s stars on Instagram.
And Alex, who drives for Williams Racing, was “watching a lot of YouTube videos and golf on TV,” Lily told Golfweek in 2021, “so then he followed me.”
They met in Los Angeles to play golf not long afterward and, as Alex told Golfweek, “That’s how it all got started.”
Cut to Lily flashing her engagement ring in a Jan. 16 post, on which her fiancé commented, “I guess we’re stuck with each other now.”
But a wry sense of humor isn’t the only thing the couple share.
“We’re so invested in each other’s sports that everything he’s been through, I feel like I’ve been through too, and vice versa,” Lily told Vogue Hong Kong in 2025. “We inspire each other.”

Carlos Sainz Jr.
The Spanish driver has been dating Scottish model Rebecca Donaldson since 2023—and we can guess who made the first move.
“Men are chasers,” Carlos said adamantly on a March 31 episode of Call Carbano, in which he and Williams teammate Alex sat down to give dating advice. “We need to go after you…If you like him, give him a hint. If he likes you, he will go for it.”
And if he doesn’t go for it, he insisted, “then he’s not for you. I’m very sorry.”
While Rebecca has not testified to the validity of her boyfriend’s theory, the Muse Activewear founder pursued her dream of starting a clothing line, telling Vestd in 2025, “I believe you never make a mistake as an entrepreneur.”
But when she’s not traveling, she told Maison E, “I just want to be home in my own bed, with my friends and family and my boyfriend, not doing much, just having an easy time.”

George Russell
The British Mercedes driver has been dating investment manager Carmen Montero Mundt since 2020, when she joined a friend who needed a plus-one to chat with her date’s roommate, George.
Carmen had no idea what George did for a living, but, she told Tatler in October 2025, “I thought he was really funny.”
Since finding out he was an F1 driver, “It’s been amazing,” Carmen said, “because, from then, I’ve almost seen his entire career. We grew together as a couple. It’s really lucky that we met when we did, because we settled into our life in a really smooth way.”
As for putting her career on hold to move to Monaco, she explained, “I always tell George, the good thing is that what I do—finance—is I can keep going for as long as I want, but he’s not going to be in this position forever. There is a biological timeline for athletes. Right now is his time.”

Oscar Piastri
The Australian driver met Lily Zneimer at boarding school in England, and they’ve been dating since 2019.
They weren’t “secretive” about their relationship, Oscar said on Dax Shepard‘s Eff Won With DRS podcast, but “we keep it to ourselves and try to be out of the spotlight, and just live normal lives.”
Yet Lily, who studied engineering at university, is looking to draw attention to F1, sharing in March during an In Her Corner event in Melbourne, “I would like to do whatever I can to help encourage more girls to this sport.”

Lando Norris
The 2025 F1 World Champion went public with Margarida “Magui” Corceiro at the Hungarian Grand Prix last July.
“Everything” about her was special, Lando told British Vogue afterward, calling the Portuguese model-actress “someone I can very much be myself with. Very down to earth and she lives quite a crazy life as well.”
She was also better at navigating online scrutiny than he was, the British McLaren driver noting, “You don’t want to see bad things written about anyone. But she’s quite wise to all of it.”
Magui posted a cozy-looking photo of them on Dec. 8 and she was his date to the FIA Awards in Uzbekistan on Dec. 12. But rumors of a split have swirled since a video shared on TikTok in February seemingly showed Lando telling Carlos Sainz during pre-season testing in Bahrain that he was a “single man.”

Pierre Gasly
The French Alpine driver made his red carpet debut with girlfriend Francisca “Kika” Gomes at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival premiere of La Passion De Dodin Bouffant. Then it was off to the races—literally—as she joined him at the Monaco Grand Prix.
The Portuguese model admitted that dating long distance could be hard but they were “finding time to be together,” telling Europa Press in 2025, “I’m lucky enough to say that I can travel.”

The New Zealander, who drives for Racing Bulls, has found a travel-and-everything-else partner in Hannah St. John, wishing his “beautiful girl” a happy birthday Feb. 12 with a carousel of photos.

Oliver Bearman
The British Haas F1 driver went public with girlfriend Alicia Stent-Torriani—an office manager at All TIME, an information services company in Monaco founded by Charles Leclerc and his brother Lorenzo—at the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix in June.
And Oliver unwittingly went viral in September when an Italian reporter marveled that he and Audi driver Gabriele Bortoleto were dating “normal girls” and “didn’t go for models.”
Though they smiled good-naturedly, Oliver said, “Aw, that’s mean.” Gabriele added, “Yeah, exactly, what do you mean by that?”

Gabriele Bortoleto
Gabriele has known Isabella Bernardini, his girlfriend of five-plus years, since they were teenagers growing up in Brazil. She’s currently based in the Netherlands, where she studied computer science and interned at a start-up working on AI projects.
“Both of us are very focused and we support each other’s careers,” Isabella told Dutch publication ge in 2025, “and that’s why it works.”
