Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas Share Update on Their Mom’s Health After Stroke
The Jonas Brothers are grateful for their mom’s strength.
Nearly two weeks after Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas’ mom Denise Jonas shared she had previously suffered a basal ganglia stroke—which she said affected her cognitive thinking, speech and reasoning—the musicians gave an update on how she’s doing.
“She went through quite a journey, and we’re proud of her that she feels comfortable talking about it,” Joe told E! News’ Erin Lim Rhodes in an exclusive joint interview alongside Kevin and Nick. “I’m sure that will encourage a lot of other people out there.”
And the example that Denise is setting amid her health battle is one she has set throughout her kids’ lives.
“She’s a very strong woman, and someone that’s amazing to look up to our whole life,” Kevin continued, “and learn how to not only act around women, but also how to respect women.”
The 38-year-old added, “Our mom is our superhero, so I feel like we try to celebrate her every time we’re with her or away from her.”
And ahead of Mother’s Day, Kevin and Nick are grateful for the impact their mom and respective wives Danielle Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Jonas have made in their lives.
“We’ve spent a lot of important days away from our very understanding and loving powerhouse women in our lives,” Nick shared. “So it’s incredible to have that support system going back to our childhood with our mother.”
As for the childhood Mother’s Day traditions that the brothers have brought into their adult lives? Kevin noted, “Breakfast in bed has always, from when we were kids to now, it’s always good.”

However, Nick noted their breakfast-making attempts were “us just doing our best to cook, which wasn’t always a successful mission.” But he emphasized, “We can make a mean smoothie.”
Leaning into their culinary strengths—not to mention nostalgia—is partly why the Jonas Brothers have partnered with Blue Diamond’s non-dairy milk Almond Breeze to celebrate Mother’s Day.
“Mom always has Almond Breeze in her fridge,” the trio shared in a statement. “Always great for smoothies and our coffee, of course. Something incredible she makes is a Texas sheet cake and I bet it would be even better with Almond Breeze.”
And when it comes to their favorite Mother’s Day memories with Denise, they added, “Sitting on the couch laughing and just enjoying one another. She is also such a great cook so eating anything she cooks us.”
