One Tree Hill’s James Lafferty and Alexandra Park Welcome First Baby
James Lafferty don’t wanna be anything other than with his family right now.
That’s because the One Tree Hill alum and his wife Alexandra Park recently welcomed their first baby together.
The couple announced their newborn River Jay Lafferty‘s arrival by posting a black-and-white photo of themselves holding the little one’s hand on a quilted blanket.
“Love has new meaning,” they wrote on Instagram April 17 alongside. “12/4/2025.”
The baby news comes 10 years after James first met Alexandra on the set of her E! series The Royals. The pair got engaged in 2020, before tying the knot in Hawaii two years later.
“I don’t know if it surprised me, but it’s better,” Alexandra said of how their relationship has evolved through the years in a 2024 interview with E! News, calling herself and James “best friends.”
“We work together,” she continued, “the fact that we get to do all of that, and spend all that time together, it just really gets better with the more we do that.”
Alexandra added, “Every day is a surprise with James. We’re just really lucky to have each other.”
It’s a sentiment shared by James, who now costars alongside Alexandra in Netflix’s Everyone Is Doing Great.
“We are so lucky to have it, and we know how lucky we are so we do everything we can to continue to foster that working relationship,” he told People in 2024. “It’s always important that you have to put your friendship first no matter what. And once you have that first principle, I think things really fall into place there.”
And the actor feels their real-life relationship only adds to their performance onscreen.

“Honestly, it affords our show a level of authenticity that I think is so rare in any project because it’s instant chemistry and there’s a shorthand,” he explained. “There’s nonverbal understanding between all of us within scenes—you can’t cast that.”
James added, “I think it is really wonderful from a personal perspective, but I also think it’s the greatest strength of the show.”
But he and Alexandra aren’t the only ones who recently expanded their family. Read on for more celebs who welcomed kids this year.
