‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey’ Reveals Which Cast Members Are Returning for Season 15
Kelsey Swanson is already making waves in the Ocean State.
In fact, The Real Housewives of Rhode Island star’s unconventional love life had many of her costars talking during the Bravo series’ season one premiere.
“My boyfriend’s family is probably one of the most prominent families in the state of Rhode Island and he has allowed me a life of not being able to work,” the 31-year-old revealed in a confessional during the April 2 debut episode. “He is a good person, he is a good man and for a good five months of the year he’s gone. So, I’m in a literal empty house where it’s just me.”
But when Kelsey’s boyfriend—whose identity she kept a secret—is in Florida half the year, she has full reign of his massive, multimillion-dollar New England mansion.
“I live a life of luxury and I’ve been lucky to be a lady of leisure for 10 years now,” the former Miss Rhode Island continued. “Living in a 16,000-sq. foot home, the house literally has everything I need. Four kitchens, 79 TVs, the closet, best part. We have to stay in a different zip code just to get to the bedroom.”
But long-distance living isn’t the only unique aspect of the couple’s romantic arrangement.
“My relationship is very unorthodox,” Kelsey acknowledged in her confessional. “This man dates multiple people. For the first half of the year, my man is in Miami and, when he’s in Miami, he’s with somebody else. But now, I’m at that crossroads where I just hit 30 and I want more from myself. I want to be in a committed relationship with one person, but at this stage in his life, there’s not one thing he’s going to change.”
“He is who he is,” she lamented, “and either I accept it, or I have to leave.”

Unsurprisingly, Kelsey’s RHORI cast mates couldn’t help gossiping about her unique circumstances during a picnic she didn’t attend. The topic of conversation prompted Rosie DiMare to question whether or not her costar is a polygamist.
“I thought Kelsey was that,” Rosie said. “Her boyfriend has a girlfriend here and a girlfriend in Florida, no?”
And after Alicia Carmody wondered how Kelsey splits up her holidays, Rosie took things a step further by asking, “What are you saying? She has another boyfriend?”
All the chatter eventually got back to Kelsey, who took issue with Rosie’s line of questioning.
“People seem to not be able to stop talking about my relationship,” Kelsey shared in a confessional. “But, Rosie, are you asking questions or are you already saying, ‘I heard this, and she is this, and they are that’? Because that’s a bad path to go down and it’s going to end up ugly for you.”
Cut to a preview of the upcoming episodes in which Kelsey puts any uncertainty to rest by declaring, “The two people in my life are the most wonderful people ever,” prompting Rosie to react with, “Now you’re saying that you do have two boyfriends. Like, what?!”
Find out more about Kelsey’s relationships when The Real Housewives of Rhode Island airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
