Gucci Mane was allegedly held captive during a harrowing experience.

Nine individuals have been charged after allegedly kidnapping and robbing three victims at gunpoint at a music studio in Dallas in January, according to the Department of Justice.

One alleged victim was musician Gucci Mane (real name Radric Davis), according to a federal criminal complaint obtained by CBS News.

“As alleged, nine defendants travelled to Dallas, Texas, to kidnap and rob victims who thought they were coming into town for a business meeting,” U.S. attorney Ryan Raybould said in an April 2 statement. “Instead of discussing business in a civil matter, the defendants resorted to violence and intimidation to achieve their purported business objectives.”

During the alleged Jan. 10 incident, the alleged perpetrators, including rappers Pooh Shiesty (real name Lontrell Williams Jr.) and Big30 (Rodney Wright Jr.), executed “a coordinated armed takeover” of a purported business meeting to discuss a recording contract, according to the Department of Justice. Shiesty then allegedly “forced one of the victims to sign a release from the recording contract at gunpoint,” per the DOJ.

Meanwhile, the other conspirators allegedly “displayed firearms and robbed the other victims of Rolex watches, jewelry, cash, and other high-value items” while Big30 barricaded the studio door to prevent the victims from escaping, according to the DOJ. One victim was also allegedly “choked to the point of near unconsciousness.”

Following the alleged incident, some of the defendants shared pictures on social media displaying what appeared to be some of the stolen items, per authorities.

Eight of the nine alleged conspirators have been arrested for the federal kidnapping and robbery as of April 2, according to the DOJ. If convicted, each defendant faces a sentence of up to life imprisonment.

Shiesty’s reps declined to comment on the allegations to Billboard. E! News has not been able to locate contact information for spokespersons for Shiesty or Big30.

In October 2024, Gucci Mane—the founder and head of record label 1017 Records—announced on X he would be releasing all of the artists signed to his label except for Shiesty and one other artist.

At the time, Shiesty was serving a prison sentence after pleading guilty in 2022 to firearms and drug charges. He was released in October, according to Fox12 Oregon citing his attorney.
