Monty Lopez, dad to Best New Artist Grammy nominee Addison Rae, was arrested in July for allegedly exposing himself in his home state of Louisiana, according to court docs obtained by TMZ.

Addison Rae’s dad Monty Lopez is facing some legal troubles.
The 50-year-old was arrested in July and charged with felony obscenity for allegedly exposing himself in Louisiana, according to court docs obtained by TMZ Feb. 17.
The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office accused him of “exposing his genitals, pubic hair, in a public place or place open to public view, or in any prison or jail, with the intent of arousing sexual desire or which appealed to the prurient interest or was patently offensive,” per the docs.
The alleged incident, to which Lopez had pleaded not guilty, occurred nearly a year earlier in August 2024, according to the records obtained by TMZ. His next hearing is scheduled for March 19 and prosecutors have recommended a year of hard labor.
E! News has reached out to a rep for Lopez for comment and has not yet heard back.
Though Lopez has not spoken publicly about the charges, he has been vocal about the positive mindset he has had since turning 50 in November.
“I’ve loved, I’ve lost, and I’ve learned more than I ever thought I would,” he wrote on Instagram at the time. “It shouldn’t have taken me half a century to realize it was time to slow down, settle in, and become the man and the role model I should’ve been all along.”

Lopez—who is dad to Addison, 25, with ex-wife Sheri Easterling—also emphasized the love he has for his wife Kaitlyn Nicole Robins, whom he married in October after only two weeks of dating.
“I’ve had eyes on me my whole life… waiting, watching, judging every mistake,” Lopez continued. “But somehow, through all of it, I finally found someone who understands me for who I am—not who the world thinks I am.”
Noting that his wife “actually loved” him through the difficulties of life, he concluded, “Thank you Kaitlyn, for becoming a part of my family, for standing beside me, and for doing the one thing no one else ever did.”
