Dezeen Showroom: Swedish brand Cords‘ catalogue of design-forward extension cords and power boards aim to provide an alternative to traditionally unsightly electrical accessories.

Launched last month with the goal of reimagining power accessories as beautiful objects, Cords‘ collection includes aesthetically appealing extension cords and USB-C hubs.

The cables are made from yarn-based and tangle-free cord, the colour palette is based on Le Corbusier’s Architectural Polychromy, and the forms include simple cubes and pucks that have a simple but sculptural presence.

“Cords is a new breed of purposeful accessories which are definitely designed to be seen,” said Cords.

The Cords product line includes three different four-socket power boards, including options with magnetic under-desk mounting or a retractable cable.

There is also a cylindrical USB-C hub with four ports, which replaces the clutter of multiple device chargers and uses high-efficiency Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology.
