Artisan fashion label Raja Rani and Singapore-born, Los Angeles-based artist Linying come together in a cross-cultural collaboration that marries music, heritage, and the craft of storytelling. In partnership with culture marketing agency blackstar, they unveil The Breeze: Swim, Swim Capsule Collection, a limited-edition line of reimagined saree-kimonos marrying heritage craftsmanship with contemporary elegance for curious wanderers, modern muses and sophisticated dreamers.
Where Music Meets Slow Fashion
Hailing from a family line of heritage saree-makers in Jaipur, Raja Raniâs story begins with upcycling the excess fabric from making traditional sarees and reimagining them into contemporary silhouettes. The Indian-Italian atelierâs ethos of honouring tradition and breaking rules finds perfect harmony with Linyingâs decade-long journey as one of Spotify Asiaâs 25 Most Influential Artists.
This collaboration transcends fashion: it is a meeting of cultural and creative expressions. Just as Linyingâs songs alchemise past and present, Raja Raniâs craftsmanship shines in their garments honouring heritage, sustainability, and transformation.

In the spirit of conscious upcycling and alchemy, the collection is crafted from airy modal silk sarees. The resulting pieces are elegant, comfortable, and versatile. Each piece from the collection features a special brass tag designed by Linying, symbolising the collaborationâs shared artistry and spirit of individuality.

A Collaboration Rooted in Storytelling
Raja Raniâs founders, an Indian/Italian powerhouse couple, have built a label that transforms tradition into wearable art, celebrated as the Silver Winner in the Slow Fashion Label category at the Honeycombers Sustainability Awards 2025 and a Finalist for the Singapore Fashion Councilâs IMPACT Award 2025.Â
Linying, whose music has been championed by NPR, The New York Times and audiences worldwide, has released her second studio album Swim, Swim and is preparing to launch her literary debut If I Looked My Lack In The Eye in late 2025.
âThe collaboration feels particularly serendipitous because Swim, Swim is an album about flow and surrender, but also about reconciling oneâs past with oneâs present. The story of Naveenâs familyâs traditional saree-making heritage really touched me, and I admire Raja Raniâs loving and meticulous approach, imbuing new meaning, giving new life to a craft that transcends time, mediums and cultures,â the award-winning artist muses.
âRaja Rani has always been about celebrating heritage with freedom, reimagining what tradition can look like today. Collaborating with Linying allowed us to extend that spirit into a new creative language, one that flows between fashion and music, between the past and the present. The Breeze: Swim, Swim Capsule Collection is our love letter to individuality, emotion, and the art of reinvention.â say Raja Rani founders Beatrice and Naveen.
In this collaboration, artists from different mediums come together with intentionality to create something of meaning and value for everyday wear in the tropics that embodies expression in all forms.
