Dezeen Showroom: Belgian architecture practice Studio Moto has created a modular aluminium furniture system, which is capable of acting as shelving and coffee tables.

Stack is a family of pieces made from a limited set of aluminium components, joined through an intuitive interlocking system that avoids the need for screws and tools.

The pieces celebrate the beauty of aluminium through raw, brushed and anodised finishes, as well as curved elements that create sculptural interplays of reflection and shadow.

Customers can configure their furniture using an online tool, making items ranging from side tables and coffee tables to plinths and shelving units.

The design brings out the beauty of aluminium

Studio Moto‘s Mo Vandenberghe and Thomas Hick said they imagined the Stack system as a bridge between architecture and furniture and came to develop it after struggling to find timeless, adaptable pieces for their own office.

“[Stack] represents modularity, longevity and creative autonomy,” said Studio Moto. “Each element can be reused, repositioned and recomposed to fit changing interiors and evolving lifestyles.”

“The brand celebrates a clear, architectural logic where structure becomes beauty — and where furniture invites participation rather than passive consumption.”
