SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — There were several rare sights along the San Diego coast this week for those onboard Wild Pacific Whale Watch’s boat.

A minke whale breached, launching itself about 20 times out of the water.

Cpt. John Mayer captured images and video, saying the guests on board had a once in a lifetime show.

There’s also been a few adult gray whale sightings this week, which is not typical for this time of the year, according to Wild Pacific Whale Watch.
