VISTA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — Authorities on Thursday found items stolen from a storage unit and three unregistered handguns with no serial numbers, or “ghost guns,” during a search warrant at a home in Vista.

Thomas Herbert, 41, and Marley St. John, 44, were detained inside the apartment, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Friday.

During a search warrant at a residence in the 1000 block of Oak Drive, detectives found $400 worth of items previously reported stolen from a storage unit located at 999 East Mission Road in San Marcos, according to SDSO.

Three unregistered handguns with no serial numbers (Rock Island 1911, Sig 228, and Glock P-80) were also discovered at the residence, authorities said.

Herbert faces multiple charges including commercial burglary, felon possession of ammunition, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of unserialized handgun, possession of fentanyl and possession of controlled substance.

St. John was initially arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. She was later cited and released from the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station.
