Suspect arrested after man found shot to death inside Ramona home thumbnail

RAMONA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A suspect was arrested after Sunday’s deadly shooting in Ramona.

Joel Martin Dukes III, 22, of Ramona, is suspected of killing Felipe Ascencio, also of Ramona, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Wednesday.

The incident occurred Sunday around 2:35 p.m. in the 700 block of Eight Street.

When authorities arrived, they found Ascencio inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound, according to SDSO. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into the motivation and circumstances of the crime remain ongoing.

SDSO has determined the shooting to be an isolated incident and that there is no danger to the public.
