Gerald Anderson and Jessy Mendiola have finally made their TV comeback with ABS-CBN’s crime drama “Sins of the Father” and they reveal what makes their new roles fascinating in the latest digital cover of Metro.
Gerald, who was last seen in 2022’s “A Family Affair,” talked about the moral complexity of his role as Samuel Trinidad in the series.
“He’s a very flawed person. So, ‘yun ang maganda—totoong tao siya. Kapag bida kasi parang perfect character [pero] wala namang ganoon sa totoong buhay. So I’m very happy na ganito ‘yung character ko,” shared the Kapamilya actor on Metro’s cover story.
Meanwhile, Jessy revealed that she is fond of her mysterious character in “Sins of the Father,” her showbiz comeback after six years.
“I said yes naman kasi basta ABS-CBN talaga, you know na pinag-isipan, pinaghirapan, at saka talagang bawat character, bibigyan ka ng moment to shine. So aside from the storyline, I really like the role. The role is very mysterious,” described Jessy.
The reunited co-stars, who first worked together in “Budoy” in 2011, have high hopes that viewers will get to see their growth as actors in the new series.
Shared Jessy, “My character, Agnes, is all about the pureness of her heart. Sana makita ng mga tao and lumabas iyon sa screen at makarating sa mga viewers.”
Gerald said, “Sana hindi ako iyong nakikita nila. As an actor, I hope na makita nila iyong growth or iyong energy, intensity, and passion ko to bring characters to life and to make this story as real as possible.”
