SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Three minors led police on a pursuit that went through several San Diego County cities on Labor Day.

A brief pursuit began along Interstate 15 in Escondido after police attempted to pull over a reported stolen Prius that was traveling close to 90 mph Monday afternoon, Escondido Police and CHP report.

The chase was eventually terminated by Escondido Police officers, but began again when Coronado Police spotted the vehicle in Coronado after it reportedly attempted to yield.

Coronado Police pursued the vehicle while the Sheriff’s helicopter ASTRA was overhead and an SDPD K-9 unit followed.

The California Highway Patrol took over the police chase once it went back onto I-15 and ended when the vehicle exited at the 395.

Police say three minors in the vehicle were arrested and are now in police custody.
