Dezeen Showroom: designer Jumphol Socharoentham and Thai brand Waste is More have created a seating collection made partially from recycled plastic, used coffee grounds and sugarcane waste.

The Slab collection features classic, refined silhouettes, including elements made from Waste is More‘s own waste-based materials, which are seamlessly integrated into solid wood frames.

The collection comprises a chair, bench, stool and bar stool, all with Waste is More’s material sheets forming the seats and backrests.

These materials are made from discarded resources such as spent coffee chaff from roasteries, agricultural sugarcane waste and recycled plastics, creatively mixed by the brand to bring out unique textures and colours.

More’s goal is that these materials should tell the story of their origins, while also maximising resource efficiency and minimising environmental impact.

“With Slab, More proves that beauty and sustainability are not mutually exclusive but can coexist in everyday objects, transforming overlooked materials into timeless, purposeful pieces,” said the brand.
