Dezeen Showroom: these multicoloured coffee and side tables by Italian designer Matteo Zorzenoni for design brand Miniforms are made entirely from Murano glass.
Striche tables demonstrate the glass blowers’ expertise by combining three different techniques into one table, resulting in a playful effect that Miniforms describes as “sugary”.
The base is mouth-blown to create a cylindrical form with a rippled, water-like surface texture, while the top is made from four successive layers of poured molten glass, each one adding to the shape, colour or texture.
Finally, thin glass rods are inserted into the top to create the pattern of clean white lines that cut across the bubbled surface.
“Striche makes glass delectable, taking on a bright, gummy-like appeal, ideal for bringing light and character to private and public spaces,” said Miniforms.
The Striche tables are available with either clear Cristallo or azure Blu bases and either Arancio orange or Menta green tops.
