CAVETOWN SIGNS RECORD DEAL WITH FUTURES MUSIC GROUP

Singer, songwriter, and producer Cavetown, the moniker of UK-born Robin Skinner, has shared his new single ‘Baby Spoon’ alongside it’s intimate and dreamlike music video, offering the first glimpse into his new chapter. With the new release comes the news of his signing with Futures Music Group (Mt. Joy, Phantogram, Barns Courtney, et. al), a joint venture between Neon Gold and Avenue A Records .

The signing follows a remarkable eighteen months for Cavetown, who has seen six of his singles earn RIAA Platinum certification, cementing his place as one of the most exciting new voices of his generation. He has played massive festivals, including Reading & Leeds, Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, and more as well as toured with AJR, Pierce the Veil, Mother Mother, and many more.

Since penning personal songs as a teenager in Cambridge, England, Cavetown has built a deeply devoted global fanbase, amassing billions of streams across a catalog that spans from lo-fi bedroom recordings to lushly self-produced indie-pop gems. His music has become a place of solace and connection, “soft hands offering understanding when the world felt too sharp.”

The track is a heartfelt meditation on vulnerability and self-acceptance, inspired by his relationship with his partner. “‘Baby Spoon is a reminder to my partner that I’ll always be there to talk to her and make her feel better. Growing up as a transmasc guy, I went through a phase of overdoing masculinity because I thought that’s what was expected of me. With her, I can be delicate, soft, I can be the baby spoon” says Robin Skinner about the song.

Cavetown also continues to champion causes close to his heart, including his This Is Home initiative, which has raised over $650,000 for LGBTQ+ organizations.

Baby Spoon is available now on all streaming platforms.
