A driver suspected in a deadly hit-and-run crash Saturday was arrested, authorities said.

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A driver suspected in a deadly hit-and-run crash Saturday was arrested, authorities said.

The incident occurred around 12:07 a.m. on Interstate 5 northbound, located south of 5th Avenue, the California Highway Patrol said in a news release Wednesday.

Authorities say an unknown man riding a motorcycle on I-5 northbound crashed into the right shoulder concrete wall for reasons still under investigation.

The collision caused the rider to be ejected and land on the No. 1 lane of State Route 163 southbound to I-5 northbound transition road.

A dark-colored Tesla then struck the rider and left the scene, per CHP.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers were able to locate the Tesla and arrest the driver.

A toxicology report is pending through the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The identity of the deceased has not been released at this time.
