Fallen Navy hero, Special Warfare Boat Operator 2nd Class Noah Michael Tobin, was welcomed back home to San Diego County on Monday after he was killed in a parachuting accident in Porterville, California, on July 1.

Fallen Navy hero returns home to San Diego

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Fallen Navy hero, Special Warfare Boat Operator 2nd Class Noah Michael Tobin, was welcomed back home to San Diego County on Monday after he was killed in a parachuting accident in Porterville, California, on July 1.

The procession for Tobin began in Porterville Monday morning and ended at a funeral home in Escondido in northern San Diego County around 1:30 p.m. Dozens of people lined S. Broadway outside the funeral home, waving American flags to welcome him back home.

The Navy reported that Tobin was participating in a Naval Parachute Course when the accident happened and the circumstances surrounding his death are still being investigated.

Tobin enlisted in the Navy in 2021 to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps, according to family members.
