Inside Charli XCX and George Daniel’s Wedding After-Party
Brat summer? More like bride summer.
Charli XCX wasted no time giving fans an inside look at her wedding day after she married The 1975 drummer George Daniel at London’s Hackney Town Hall July 19.
The “360” singer made time to take part in a current TikTok trend using her song “Girl, so confusing” in which she donned her Vivienne Westwood Nova Cora mini dress wedding gown that she paired with a fingertip veil, white slingback heels and her signature chunky black sunglasses.
In the clip posted July 20, Charli quickly struts in and out of a room under the words, “when george isn’t crying when he sees me walking down the aisle.” Thankfully for the rocker, he apparently did get emotional seeing his bride, as the “Boom Clap” singer captioned the video, “luckily he did xx.”
Charli also gave a peek inside her after party, posting a high-energy TikTok set to Far East Movement‘s “Like A G6” in which she unveiled her second look of the festivities by throwing open some window curtains to reveal a white baby doll dress with long sleeves.
Also in the video are a few of her friends, as well as George, who playfully held Charli’s veil to his head with his shirt unbottoned as he smoked a cigarette in front of a fan.
She captioned the video, “bridal party energy!”
The newlyweds and their guests celebrated their nuptials with a post-ceremony meal at nearby Italian restaurant Dalla, as seen in photos published by The Sun.
The 32-year-old first shared news of her engagement back in November 2023 when she shared a picture on Instagram of a tea tray with an engagement ring on it with the caption, “charli xcx and george daniel f–king for life!!!”
The couple first met in 2021 while working on the song “Spinning” together, and Charli later opened up about the newness of being romantically involved with a collaborator.
She told the Spout Podcast a month after announcing their engagement, “It’s funny, I have never sort of been in a relationship with someone that I’ve worked with, so it’s like a whole new dynamic.”
