John Mulaney Shuts Down Emmys 2026 With Must-See Monologue
Live from John Mulaney’s living room, it’s makeover hour with Méi!
While giving a rare look into his fatherhood journey, the Saturday Night Live alum shared an adorable video of his and wife Olivia Munn‘s 2-year-old daughter playing with toy makeup.
The Oct. 20 Instagram clip featured a sweet father-daughter moment, in which Mulaney—who also shares son Malcolm, 4, with the actress—got a makeover by his daughter.
“What are you doing?” Mulaney asked Méi, who looked in the camera and used her sponge tip eyeshadow applicator to brush makeup on her cheeks. “Want to put some on Daddy?”
But the Big Mouth star’s little one didn’t hesitate to show how she was really feeling, telling her dad, “No.”
“Only Méi?” Mulaney asked Méi, who adorably chuckled in response.
And she let the comedian join in, applying the sparkly purple play eyeshadow to her dad’s cheeks.
After Méi gave him a new look, Mulaney asked for something in return.
“Give me a kiss!” he told his daughter, who gave him a smooch. “Love you. Does it look good?”
Méi answered by kissing her dad once more.
And as for Mulaney, he proved that his daughter is always his bright light, even on darker days.
After all, the Emmy winner captioned the Instagram video, “This was a really sweet moment in the middle of my colonoscopy prep day.”
Since becoming a dad in 2021, Mulaney has shared that welcoming kids with Munn was life-altering in more ways than one.
“I’m in the world now that I’m a father,” he shared during a March 2025 interview with Sunday Morning. “My head was my only home before that. When my son was born, the first thought I had was, I went, ‘Oh, there you are.’ And when my daughter was born, I had this—not to sound ‘woo-woo’ or anything—but when she was born, I went, ‘Oh!’ My thought was like, ‘Oh, we’ve met before. I’ve collided with you some other time.’”
As the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse star put it, Méi and Malcom “make me like the world a lot more.”
