How to Style Sneaker Mules
“They’re a trendier shoe, so I actually think the rest of the outfit should feel more considered,” says stylist Maegan Watson.
“When you’re wearing something inherently casual, the rest of the outfit needs to communicate that you chose that shoe intentionally rather than simply putting on the easiest thing by the door,” she explains.
“I wouldn’t automatically throw them on with athleisure just because they’re technically sneakers,” she advises. Although the TikTok-viral Asics Gel-1130 Mule Sneakers paired with sleek leggings and your favorite workout top makes a chic pilates ensemble.

Thanks to the athleisure trend, wearing running shoes on the day-to-day is not only widely acceptable, but very on-trend. These popular Asics sneakers get a hybrid makeover: the same sporty profile, but now with no chance of heel blisters.
“Because sneaker mules can visually feel a little clunkier than a traditional sneaker,” says Watson, “I like balancing that proportion.”
“Try a wide-leg or barrel-leg jean, a cropped tee and a great jacket over your shoulders,” suggests Watson.
Warburton agrees, saying, “I would pair sneaker mules with straight-leg or wide-leg jeans and a simple T-shirt in a color that complements the sneaker’s.”

From there, it becomes much easier to pair them with any of your usual everyday, office, or casual eventwear.”
