You oughta know World Cup 2026 has reached Canada.

To celebrate, Canadian stars Alanis Morissette and Michael Bublé performed at the opening ceremony during their home country’s game against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Toronto June 12.

Rocking in a patriotic red jacket, Morissette, 52, delivered a stunning rendition of “O Canada,” while a suit-clad Bublé, 50, sang a cover of Sam Cooke‘s “Bring It On Home to Me” backed by the Sole Power Choir before the players took the pitch.

In the stands, Vancouver-born Ryan Reynolds was spotted rooting for his native team.

Canada is one of the three North American countries hosting this year’s soccer tournament. On June 11, Mexico kicked off the World Cup with a star-studded celebration featuring Shakira, Burna Boy, Salma Hayek Pinault, J Balvin, Andrea Bocelli and Pop Demon Hunters singer EJAE as a symbol of global unity.

The World Cup opening ceremony in United States is scheduled to take place later on June 12, with Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, LISA, Tyla, Dan + Shay and Rema slated to take the stage at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

Ahead of the performance, Perry, 41, teased that her set will include a song she’s never performed live before.

“It’s very fitting for the ceremonial song that I get to sing,” she told People on June 8. “And it’s not new. It’s off of one of my records, and I’m very excited to perform it.”

But fans can except to see more show-stopping concerts during the 39-day sporting event. After all, Madonna, BTS and Shakira will be performing at FIFA’s first-ever World Cup Final Halftime Show in New Jersey July 19.

The milestone event will be curated by Coldplay‘s Chris Martin, who promised that there would “absolutely” be a few surprises.

“There’s singing and there’s dancing and there’s music,” he shared during the May 13 announcement. “It’s a chance to show how amazing all different kinds of humans are.”
