Jonah Hill Shares He Privately Married, Welcomed Baby No. 2 With Olivia Millar
Al Roker has a new family member in his neck of the woods.
The Today cohost confirmed that his and wife Deborah Roberts’ daughter Leila Roker, 27, recently got married to Sylvain Gricourt in Europe while sharing how the hantavirus outbreak from the MV Hondius cruise ship affected his return travel.
“I was coming from Europe this weekend from my daughter’s wedding, and the CDC was asking people to voluntarily test,” Al said during the morning show May 12. “But they didn’t say for what, so I just wonder if it was a precaution here.”
Weeks before, the 71-year-old—also dad to son Nick Roker, 23, with Deborah, and daughter Courtney, 37, with late ex-wife Alice Bell—explained how Leila’s nuptials were a gift for his wife… sort of.
“Our daughter, Leila, is getting married, just before Mother’s Day. That Mother’s Day weekend, actually,” he told Swooon in a May 1 interview. “So, that’s kind of her Mother’s Day gift, I guess.”
But it’s not the only way Leila—who works as a PR specialist—is celebrating her union with Sylvain. Last year, Deborah explained that her daughter and her then-fiancée would have a smaller wedding in Paris before hosting a larger ceremony in the U.S. where they will “blow the budget.”
“We have to do a small ceremony in France because she lives in Paris,” the Good Morning America correspondent said during an October appearance on Live With Kelly & Mark, per People. “And so they have to do something small there, and I said, ‘Let’s keep it teeny tiny.’ And then she wants to come home.”
Leila and Sylvain met in 2018 in France—his home country—while she was studying abroad at the American University of Paris. After years of dating, he popped the big question in Italy in March 2025.
“8 years ago, I moved to Paris, 7 years ago I met my person and best friend,” Leila wrote on Instagram at the time, “and 2 days ago, that person took me on the most amazing surprise trip to Venice to ask me to spend the rest of our lives together.”
Following their announcement, Al shared his own excitement, writing on Instagram at the time, “We could not be happier, and look forward to planning for these two wonderful young folks coming together.”
