Dezeen Showroom: architecture studio Gensler worked with US furniture brand KFI Studios to produce this sheltered workstation for modern offices.
Canopy is a freestanding workstation developed by Gensler‘s product design team to give people privacy and control in the midst of open offices while bringing a modern and refined aesthetic.

It incorporates a height-adjustable desk for both sitting and standing, as well as an upholstered hood that helps to soften noise and reduce distractions without fully isolating the person from their environment.
Integrated lighting adds a flattering ring light effect for virtual meetings while also helping to save energy with an optional occupancy sensor.

“Canopy was born out of a desire to bring calm to open environments,” said Gensler design director Daniel Stromborg.
“We wanted to create something that felt grounded and architectural, while delivering on performance, supporting flexibility, movement and the human need for boundaries in shared space.”
Canopy incorporates power points and USB charging and can be finished with wood veneer, laminate or upholstery in a choice of seven fabrics from Gabriel or Kvadrat.
