Dezeen Showroom: Italian stone brand Antolini has teamed up with Bang & Olufsen to create an outdoor speaker that explores “sound as an architectural language”.
The Beosound Haven, Bang & Olufsen’s forthcoming outdoor speaker, was unveiled as part of an installation at Milan Design Week.
It combines a distinctive spherical form crafted from precision-engineered aluminium with a monolithic support formed from Antolini’s Taj Mahal quartzite.
“With Beosound Haven, our new outdoor speaker, we explore sound as the language of architecture,” said Kresten Bjørn Krab-Bjerre, senior director of design at Bang & Olufsen.
Beosound Haven takes the form of both a freestanding and a wall-mounted speaker to suit different environments.
At Milan design week, it was presented as part of an installation that saw Antolini’s Milano Duomo Stoneroom filled with verdant greenery and a mini reflecting pond.
The speakers are made in partnership with Bang & Olufsen’s Atelier program.
