La Mesa Councilmembers and city advocates have proposed renaming the intersection of Lowell Street and Normal Avenue in front of Helix High School to “Bill Walton Way” in honor of NBA Hall of Famer Bill Walton, a La Mesa native and Helix and UCLA alumni.
