‘Blood vs Duty’ Grips Viewers with Explosive take on Gun Smuggling; Emerges as Netflix PH’s Most Watched Series

ABS-CBN’s new action-drama series “Blood vs Duty” made a strong debut on primetime television and digital platforms, quickly hooking viewers and emerging as the most watched series on Netflix Philippines with its gripping conflict linked to armed smuggling.

The series made its debut on ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel and Kapamilya Online Live last Monday (April 6), and also rolled out advanced episodes on Netflix and iWant over the weekend, unveiling a fresh and action-packed narrative in the 8pm primetime slot. 

The series opened with a riveting look into the lives of Marcus (Richard Gutierrez) Lara (Bela Padilla), and Felix’s (Baron Geisler) as agents working to dismantle the spread of illegal firearms. Meanwhile, a looming threat begins to unfold in Jalil (Gerald Anderson) and Jamilah’s (Barbie Imperial) community, as they find themselves entangled in the dangerous world of illegal firearms dealing—setting the stage for a high-stakes and emotionally charged conflict. 

Viewers have since praised the show’s compelling narrative and the powerhouse performances from its cast.

“Grabe halimaw talaga si Richard Gutierrez sa action! Ang galing ng mga sipa niya at ang husay niya sa karate. Pang-Hollywood ang level ng fight scene at grabe ang sagupaan nila ni Gerald,” a Facebook user said.

“Richard and Gerald show the two sides of justice and fairness. They maybe protagonists here with different perspectives,” another Facebook user shared.

“Bagay kay Bela maging intelligent agent. Matalino, madiskarte, at matapang!” Facebook user expressed.

“Sa role ni Baron panigurado marami na naman ang mahi-high blood sa sobrang galit at isa na ako roon. Sobrang galing kasi niya sa gumanap sa karakter niya,” a netizen said.

“Interesting ang story ni Barbie dito. Magiging mabait pa rin kaya siya sa gitna ng pagsubok sa mga susunod na episodes?” a netizen commented.

“Sobrang timely ng story and it feels like it really reflects what’s happening in the Philippines right now,” a post from X user.
