Ireland Baldwin Reacts to Mom Kim Basinger’s Birthday Shoutout for Alec Baldwin
There’s nothing complicated about how Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin’s eldest daughter feels about their age gap.
Indeed, the couple’s 12-year-old daughter Carmen took a playful jab at her parent’s 26-year age difference in a hilarious video meant to celebrate the 30 Rock alum’s 68th birthday.
“Hey, it’s me. It’s my birthday. I’m 68 years old. What can I say? I’m 68,” Alec said in an April 3 Instagram video alongside his kids in a tropical location. “I’m 68 years old—what a way to turn 68. My favorite birthday before this was 40. That was a while ago.”
Emphasizing her dad’s point, Carmen jokingly added, “That was a really long time ago.”
Visibly shocked at her comment, Alec—who also share kids Rafael, 10, Leo, 9, Romeo, 7, Eduardo, 5, Maria, 5, and Ilaria, 2, with Hilaria—asked, “How long ago was it, Carmen?”
Taking the time to do some mental math, she quipped, “Um, so Mommy was 14?”
Though Alec—also dad to daughter Ireland, 30, with ex-wife Kim Basinger—took the joke in stride in the clip, he cracked a joke of his own in the post’s caption.

“God help me,” he wrote, “It’s elder abuse.”
The hilarious moment comes after another one of Hilaria, 42, and Alec’s kids made their family getaway utterly unforgettable. After all, the Dancing With the Stars alum shared that their son Leo suffered a gnarly injury during the family’s vacation.
“I love that my family came to meet me after my work trip,” Hilaria wrote alongside the March 29 Instagram carousel that featured pictures and videos of her little ones enjoying their time on the beach and on walks. “Such a special time to be here together.”
Hilaria also included a few snaps of the 9-year-old in the hospital as well as with a bandage over his eye.

“Trigger warning: Leo split his forehead open and we were well taken care of in the hospital,” Hilaria wrote alongside pictures of Leo getting stitched up by the doctors. “So grateful for the kindness and care.”
Their son’s injury aside, Hilaria noted how much she enjoyed the rest and relaxation with her little Baldwinitos.
“Other than that, it’s been beach, together, practicing walking like [crab emojis],” she added. “Memories made. I missed them so much it hurt.”

Alec Baldwin told the New York Times he gave his future wife, then Hilaria Thomas, his number upon meeting her at Pure Food and Wine in New York in February 2011. The two played phone tag until they finally arranged a time to meet for dinner.
