Sara Bareilles had to be extra brave for this one.

The “Love Song” singer was shocked to find a skull and remains of an animal when she cleaned out the chimney at her country house.

“When you live in the country and you open a door ‘cause it’s always been closed every time before. And you see some stuff falling out you think, maybe I should see what’s inside,” Sara sang at the start of her ordeal posted to TikTok March 19. “And it’s a skull. And it’s a skull. It’s the bone of a maggot-filled skull!”

“I don’t know what this thing is, it’s a giant dragon,” she continued singing. “What the f–k, what the f–k?”

The 46-year-old then took it upon herself to clean out the carcass—which she guessed belonged to a raccoon—explaining that she’d owned the home for several years but could never get the door of the chimney open until she walked in and saw “all this s–t on the floor” below it.

Once she opened the door, Sara gave a peek at what was inside, revealing a mixture of soot and the remains of a dead animal. She then grabbed some gloves and a shovel as she began scooping all of it into a brown paper bag.

“I’m really grossed out,” she confessed. “There’s a better way to do this, I’m certain of it.”

The Grammy winner then gave followers her POV as she continued shoveling out the dead animal.

“This body is big, it’s like a turkey,” Sara screamed. “Oh my god, it’s like birthing itself backwards. There’s multiples. It’s multiple things.”

Once the ordeal was complete she added, “That was traumatic.”

Despite the trauma, the Waitress composer wanted to give “these little creatures a little blessing” as she “set them back into nature.”

“Even though they’re quite, very, very dead,” she said. “I’m gonna sage the place and then I’m gonna take a shower.”

After sharing the experience to her social media platforms, Sara was shocked by the number of comments she received, writing on Instagram March 18, “I don’t think I’ve ever posted anything online that has gotten more interaction than me removing cat carcasses from an old chimney in my house.”

The “Brave” singer also shared a friend’s cartoon of herself scooping out the carcass, which included her caption from the original video, “#OppositeOfTheOscars.”
