‘The Masked Singer’s’ Most Shocking Reveals That Made Fans’ Jaws Drop
The Owl is no longer getting the best of both worlds.
On the Feb. 11 episode of The Masked Singer, the crowd and judges said goodbye to the Owl, with none of the judges guessing his identity correctly. So who exactly was under the mask?
The bird of prey revealed during week two that he had achieved massive success, saying, “You couldn’t go anywhere without hearing my name. Folks even started following my look.”
But the fame quickly faded as the Owl realized people were laughing at him, not with him. Luckily, he was given “the chance to do something so big, those haters were all eating their words.”
He later revealed during week five that he tried his hand at baseball, but his “heart was telling me something” that inspired him to try a new path.
“Guess what? I soared to success,” he shared. “Now that’s a lesson I try to teach my kids. Follow your heart and no matter the field, you’ll always hit a grand slam.”
And the Owl’s heart was on display during the Valentine’s Day episode of the Fox series as he talked about the chemistry he’d experienced in a new relationship that started when he was at his “lowest point” and “getting dragged through the mud publicly.”
“Suddenly, I get a text from a number I don’t recognize. It says, ‘The vultures are circling, but I’m in your corner,’” he recalled. “The thing is, I didn’t know who sent it. It turned out to be from someone I least expected. This girl was just as beautiful as her words. We went out for a date and our chemistry was real. We’ve been together ever since.”
The judges pointed out Owl’s clue package included a sign for “Mile 1992,” noting that could have been a big year for him. He then launched into a rendition of Billy Idol’s “White Wedding,” complete with a tambourine dancer clad in red.

As for his clue after the performance? His partner made an offscreen appearance, with Owl answering the phone to hear the message, “Hey baby, Lady Owl here. Watching you has been enchanting. Good luck tonight and Happy Valentine’s Day.”
Judge Jenny McCarthy immediately clocked that Lady Owl had an accent, and Ken Jeong asked if she was British. The judges all turned to Rita Ora—who was raised in the U.K.—as she joked, “You guys are all looking at me like I should know every single British person on planet Earth.”
When asked for his thoughts on the message, Owl became incredibly emotional and could be heard holding back tears.
Unfortunately, he found himself on the losing end of the matchup against Stingray, and the judges gave their final guesses as to who could be under the mask.
While Robin Thicke thought it could be Walton Goggins—noting he and the Owl have “Southern, groggy kind” of voices—he returned to his original guess of Dennis Quaid. Jenny remembered the clue about a heart monitor as she wondered if the masked man played a doctor on TV, closing her case with Ted Danson, who portrayed Dr. John Becker on the TV show Becker. Ken had originally wondered if it could be Matthew McConaughey, and while he was also thinking about Woody Harrelson, he agreed with Jenny’s guess of Ted Danson. Rita also went back to her original guess, closing her case with Kurt Russell.
But all of the judges were wrong: The Owl was revealed to be Billy Ray Cyrus, with Jenny exclaiming, “Oh my god! How did I not get that?”

And Billy was thrilled to have taken part in the show, saying, “It’s an honor to be with you all. It’s been a lot of fun being here with all of you all. Music changes, everything. The music changes lives.”
The judges were truly shocked none of them guessed correctly, with Robin noting, “It’s very rare that none of us get it right, especially for such a big name and a big star and somebody we’ve guessed so many times. So to be able to fool all of us, that’s quite an accomplishment.”
Billy also confirmed Lady Owl and the lady in red during his performance were nods to his partner Elizabeth Hurley, calling her an “angel” who came into his life. Billy and Elizabeth went public with their romance in April 2025, though the couple first crossed paths when they co-starred in the 2022 film Christmas in Paradise.
The 64-year-old gained fame with his 1992 debut single “Achy Breaky Heart” before a new generation discovered him when he starred alongside daughter Miley Cyrus on the Disney series Hannah Montana.
