How Coco Jones Honored Whitney Houston in Super Bowl 2026 Performance
Bad Bunny wanted fans to just dance.
The Puerto Rican superstar hit the stage inside Levi’s Stadium for his Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show on Feb. 8 with several familiar faces.
While paying homage to his home island of Puerto Rico, the 31-year-old brought out celebrities including Cardi B, Alix Earle and Jessica Alba to dance on stage. But it was Ricky Martin and Lady Gaga who took the mic for two surprise performances.
Lady Gaga—who headlined her own Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2017—sang her and Bruno Mars‘ song “Die With a Smile,” before taking Bad Bunny’s hand for a dance that showed off her blue dress, adorned with a red floral brooch to match her nails and lipstick.
As for Ricky Martin, in addition to performing at the football game, he also praised the musician leading up to the show, following Bad Bunny’s Grammys win for Album of the Year.
“I know what it means to succeed without letting go of where you come from,” Ricky wrote in the Puerto Rican newspaper El Nuevo Día, per Billboard. “That’s why what you have achieved is not just a historic musical accomplishment, it’s a cultural and human victory.”
He added, “You won without changing the color of your voice. You won without erasing your roots. You won by staying true to Puerto Rico.”
Prior to rocking the stage, Bad Bunny (real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) kept his cool about any possible cameos.
“That is something I’m not going to tell you,” he playfully said during the Apple Music press conference on Feb. 5. “I have a lot of guests, it’s going to be my family, my friends and all the Latino community around the world that support me.”
He continued, “The whole country, there’s so many people who support me around the world.”

While he didn’t let slip who would actually hit the stage, the global superstar acknowledged all the support from around the world.
“There’s a lot of people that stop me on the street on the airport. and say like, “I know you gonna do a great performance at the Super Bowl,'” he shared. “I know that the world is gonna be happy this Sunday, that they are going to dance and have a good time.”

As for taking the stage—exactly one week after taking home the Album of the Year Grammy for Debí Tirar Más Fotos—it was all about gratitude.
“To be honest, I don’t know how I’m feeling,” he admitted. “There’s a lot. I’ve been saying that I’m still in the middle of my tour. I was at the Grammys last week.”
“The biggest feeling has been grateful,” he continued. “I’m happy. I’m just processing and taking one day at a time and just living. I’m excited about this performance.”
