Golden Globes 2026: What Michael B. Jordan’s Mom Wants Everyone to Know About Her Son
Someone needed a drink after Nikki Glaser was done complimenting Michael B. Jordan‘s performance in Sinners.
And that someone was the actor’s mother, Donna Jordan.
“In Sinners, Michael played two brothers—am I allowed to say that? Doesn’t sound right,” the 2026 Golden Globes host said in her opening monologue Jan. 11, leaning into the un-PC play on words.
“He played twins,” she clarified. “He played twins. I can’t believe it, we got two Michael B. Jordans. When I saw that, I was like Nikki B. Jerkin’ because that was awesome.”
Jordan laughed, and also kind of cringed, considering his mom was sitting next to him, Donna his date for the second weekend in a row after also accompanying him to the Critics Choice Awards Jan. 4.
“I’m sorry, Michael,” Glaser continued. “Why did I make that joke? I know your mom, I’m so sorry. I should not have said that to you! That should’ve been a DM, my mistake. I love you, you’re amazing.”
Donna’s response—raising her eyebrows and taking a sip of her drink as she played up not knowing where to look—was pitch-perfect.
As if she didn’t have enough to be proud of already, considering Jordan is a Best Lead Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama, nominee for his dual turns as identical twins Smoke and Stack in the hit horror film.

And as if this hadn’t already been such a singular night.
On the red carpet, Jordan told Zuri Hall on Live from E!: Golden Globes 2026 that this was “definitely a special moment.”

“The audience, the fans, the whole industry, everybody has been looking at this movie as one of the top conversations, which is an honor to be a part of,” the actor shared. “But tonight it’s just fun to celebrate my other costars and other actors that did tremendous performances this year, great work, and just have a good time.”
Donna singled out her son’s “commitment and his dedication and his persistence to his craft” among the things she hoped people understood about him, as well as “the messages that he tries to share with everyone, with the choices that he makes and the work that he does. And I’m very proud of that.”
Win or lose, the 2026 Golden Globes was a night to remember for the Jordan family. But see the complete list of winners right here:
